Union Beach can expect its share of budget cuts

Councilman Robert Howard Jr. announced that Union Beach should brace itself for budget cuts.

“We can expect a drastic reduction in state aid,” he said at the March 20 meeting.

Union Beach’s budget will not be announced until July 1, at which time it is estimated the town will experience a loss of $230,000 or more in state funding.

It might also lose a great deal of extraordinary aid.

“We have advance notice and are determined to do our best,” Howard said.
