Keyport to host Beach Sweep tomorrow

Keyport will be sweeping its beaches clean tomorrow as part of the 23rd annual Clean Ocean Action.

Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at Cedar Street Park. The sweep will be held rain or shine.

Volunteers are asked to:

  • Bring and wear gloves
  • Dress accordingly to the weather
  • Wear hard-soled shoes
  • Stay out of the dunes
  • Respect wildlife

A bit of history: Clean Ocean Action is one of the longest running cleanups in the world. It first started at Sandy Hook in 1985. Since then, over 70,000 volunteers have participated and removed over 3 million pieces of debris from New Jersey’s beaches and waterways.
